Seven Years!

Seven years in Japan, I finally did it!

Sometimes I can't believe that it has been that long. It was like a few days ago when my family and friends saw me off at Phnom Penh International Airport. It was sad to say goodbye, but the excitement to see a new world was greater.

It was 7:00 am on April 2, 2003 when my plane landed at Narita International Airport. It was raining outside and the weather was very cold. I think it was below 5 Degree Celsius, the lowest temperature I had experienced.

I still remember the feeling I had that day. Even though the weather was bad and I was very tired from flying, I was very excited and happy. Now my seventh year in Japan has passed, and the feeling I had on my first day was long gone. Only the memory remains. It is sad to remember something we lost and might never have it again, but I still feel very blessed to have had it even if it was for only a short time.
